Aftermarket front tower for TA01 and TA02

The JR-TA106-RD is an anodized aluminum front shock tower made for compatibility with Tamiya TA01 and TA02 1/10 touring platforms. Supplied in red, it replaces the OEM plastic tower to provide a stronger mounting location for front shocks and steering link attachments.

Fitting the JR-TA106-RD is carried out like other tower swaps: remove the stock part, transfer spacers or inserts, align the new tower with the suspension and steering points, and secure with the original fasteners. Confirm that shocks and tie rods move freely through their range before final tightening.

Functionally the aluminum tower helps maintain shock geometry under load, which can enhance repeatable handling and reduce flex-related setup drift. Use it alongside matched shock components to optimise front-end feel for different track conditions.

Is this an OEM part or an aftermarket upgrade?

This is an aftermarket aluminium upgrade manufactured to fit Tamiya TA01 and TA02 mounting points, intended to improve stiffness and durability compared with the factory plastic tower.

Will the anodized finish chip under heavy use?

The anodized layer increases surface hardness and resists chipping, but like any finish it can show wear over time; normal maintenance and gentle cleaning will help preserve the appearance.

Does installing the tower change recommended shock settings?

Because the tower reduces flex, some drivers may choose to fine tune damping or spring rate to regain preferred front-end compliance; minor adjustments to ride height or camber may also be beneficial.
