Alloy rear gearbox cover for TA01/TA02/DF01

This red aluminum rear gear box cover is a direct-fit replacement for the original rear cover on Tamiya TA01, TA02 and DF01 chassis. It serves as a rigid top plate over the gearbox area to reduce flex and provide a durable interface where the gearbox meets the chassis.

The part is supplied in red aluminium and uses the chassis' stock mounting points. Installation replaces the factory cover with the alloy unit while retaining screw locations and alignment; always verify gear mesh and that all fasteners are correctly seated after fitting.

Intended to aid tuning, the cover keeps rear gearbox mounting more rigid to help maintain consistent gear alignment under load and to assist repeatable setup adjustments. Maintenance access follows the chassis' original removal steps.

Will this fit other Tamiya variants without modding?

The component is intended for TA01, TA02 and DF01. Other variants may not align with the mounting pattern and could require modification.

Should gear mesh be adjusted after fitting?

Yes. Because the alloy cover alters mounting stiffness, check and, if necessary, fine-tune the gear mesh once the cover is installed.

How durable is the red aluminium surface?

The red aluminium finish stands up well to normal use; inspect the surface and mating parts during routine service and clean away grit to prevent wear.
